Terms of Service

Our terms and conditions

Last updated: 2026-04-18

Welcome to Katalog. These terms cover how you can use our service, what we promise, and what we don't. Please read them. If any of this feels unclear or unfair, reach out to us at hello@katalog.toolsand we'll do our best to explain or improve it.

What Katalog is

Katalog is a web service that gives small sellers a shareable public storefront at a URL like mykatalog.shop/yourname. You can list products, share the link, and take orders from buyers via WhatsApp and email. Katalog does not process payments between you and your buyers; you handle that part directly (cash, bank transfer, WhatsApp Pay, or whatever works for you).

By using Katalog you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Your account

You need an account to create a storefront. When you sign up you agree to:

  • Provide accurate sign-up details (email, name, business info where we ask for it).
  • Keep your login credentials secure. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
  • Run one storefront per user. If you have more than one business and need multiple storefronts, email us and we'll sort it out — don't create duplicate accounts.
  • Not register a username that impersonates someone else, abuses a trademark you don't own, or "squats" a reserved handle (big brand names, generic category names like shoes or perfume, etc.). We may reclaim usernames that violate this.
  • Be at least 18, or have a parent or guardian's consent.

Acceptable use

Please don't use Katalog to:

  • List products that are illegal where you live or where your buyers are (e.g. counterfeit goods, regulated goods you aren't licensed to sell, stolen property).
  • List products that infringe someone else's trademark, copyright, or other IP rights.
  • Post content that's fraudulent, misleading about product quality or origin, hateful, pornographic, or otherwise designed to harm.
  • Send spam, unsolicited messages, or scrape our platform.
  • Upload malware, try to break our security, or probe other users' accounts.
  • Resell access to Katalog or build a competing platform on top of our APIs without permission.

If a storefront looks like it crosses these lines we may suspend it while we investigate, and remove it if the investigation confirms a breach.

Your content, your ownership

Your products, photos, descriptions, and the buyer contacts you collect belong to you. We don't claim ownership. By uploading content to Katalog you give us a limited, worldwide license to host it, serve it to buyers who visit your storefront, and make backups — just what's needed to run the service. If you delete your account that license ends (see "Termination" below).

Buyers and orders

Katalog is a listings platform. When a buyer places an order through your storefront, the legal transaction is between you and that buyer. You're responsible for fulfilling the order, handling returns, answering questions, and complying with your local consumer-protection rules. Katalog isn't a party to that transaction.

Fees

Katalog is free to use today. We may introduce paid tiers in the future; if we do, we'll tell you what the price is and give you time to decide before any charge. Future paid subscriptions are subject to our Refund Policy.

Termination

You can delete your account any time from your account settings. When you do, we'll remove your storefront from the public web immediately and purge your data per our Privacy Policy retention schedule.

We can suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms. Where we can, we'll give notice and a chance to fix the issue first. For serious breaches (fraud, illegal content, platform abuse) we may act immediately.

Service availability

We aim for Katalog to be available and fast, but we don't promise uninterrupted service. We may need to take the service down for maintenance, or it may be unavailable because of issues with our hosting provider, your network, or your buyer's network. Where outages last long enough to matter, we'll post updates on our status page or via email.

Changes to the service

We're actively building Katalog. Features may change, be added, or be removed. We'll try to give reasonable notice before removing anything major you depend on.

Disclaimers

Katalog is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or will meet every business need. Your storefront's success depends on many things outside our control — the products you sell, your marketing, your pricing, your buyers. We can't guarantee sales.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, Katalog and its team aren't liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the service is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim — which, on the current free tier, is zero.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Before either of us takes any legal action, we agree to try to resolve the dispute informally — email hello@katalog.toolswith the details and we'll work through it in good faith for at least 30 days.

Updates to these terms

We may update these terms as Katalog evolves. If changes are material, we'll notify you by email (to the address on your account) and in-app, at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after that window counts as acceptance of the updated terms.
